On Sabbath, February 14, 2026, members of The Friendship Company (TFC) stepped out into the streets of Lacombe with a simple but powerful mission: to share the love of Jesus in practical, heartfelt ways. They called it The Love Project—an initiative designed to remind our community that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

The project centered around small, beautifully prepared gift packages. Each one included a tea mug printed with a Bible verse, two packets of hot chocolate, and a handwritten note with messages such as, “You are loved by the One who knows the number of hairs on your head.” Every package also included an invitation to the church, complete with the address, contact information, and a list of services offered to the community.
To reach as many people as possible, the church divided into three teams:
◾ Pastor Billy Watson led the group serving in the Lacombe town center, sharing love with pedestrians, shoppers, and individuals passing by.
◾ Fred Mwilima guided the team visiting homes in neighborhoods the church had not yet reached, ensuring new connections were made.
◾ A third team headed to the Lacombe Mall led by Pastor Mario Parchment, where they met families, seniors, and workers going about their day.

Despite several challenges leading up to the event, the project was warmly received. Community members expressed surprise, gratitude, and joy. Some asked, “How much is it?”—astonished to learn that the gifts were completely free. One woman, overwhelmed by the kindness, insisted on giving something in return and handed a team member a small bag of chocolates.
In one home, a child from the team read the Bible verse aloud to an elderly woman. She listened quietly, then wrapped the child in a long, heartfelt hug—a moment that touched everyone present.
After completing their routes, all three groups returned to the church to share testimonies, smiles, and stories of divine appointments. The room was filled with excitement and gratitude as members reflected on how God had used simple acts of kindness to open hearts.
The Love Project reminded everyone that love is more than words—it is action. It is a principle lived out in service, compassion, and presence. Scripture tells us that “God is love,” and when we show love, our community gets a glimpse of who God truly is.
The Friendship Company looks forward to continuing this ministry, one act of love at a time.
