On March 21–22, our Fort Saskatchewan Seventh-day Adventist Church family was blessed to host another Healthy Choices Wellness Workshop, presented by Dr. Darlene Blaney. This outreach provided a meaningful opportunity to connect with our community while promoting practical, Christ-centered principles of health.

Over the course of the weekend, we saw a total attendance of approximately 30 to 40 individuals. Notably, around 20 guests from the community attended the Sunday cooking school, and several also joined us for our Sabbath church service. We were especially encouraged to see visitors remain for our fellowship meal, where a nutritious vegetarian buffet was prepared and shared in a warm and welcoming spirit.

Dr. Blaney presented during the Sabbath morning service and continued with an afternoon session following the fellowship dinner. Her presentations were clear, practical, and well received, offering simple steps toward healthier living.

Sunday’s program reflected the dedication of our church family. Ten members arrived early in the morning to prepare recipe items for the cooking school. From 2:00 to 5:00 PM, guests from the community joined us for the wellness workshop, where they were introduced to wholesome plant-based foods and enjoyed a variety of free samples. The response was very positive, with many expressing appreciation for both the food and the overall experience.

This workshop is another in a series of Healthy Choices programs we have been privileged to offer, along with depression and anxiety recovery initiatives. These outreach efforts continue to serve as practical ways to build relationships and minister to the needs of our community.

We thank God for the spirit of unity and willingness among our members, many of whom were personally blessed through their involvement. It is our prayer that the seeds sown through this ministry will continue to bear fruit as we anticipate the Second Coming of Christ and the harvest to be reaped in preparation.
